Why I like it

These are the protein bars I buy when I want a genuinely food-based ingredient list rather than a long blend of isolates, syrups and sugar alcohols. Chief publishes the percentages of cashews and collagen, and the remaining ingredients are straightforward and recognisable.

The label is unusually transparent for a protein bar: 61% cashews and 25% grass-fed collagen are declared.
The rest of the formula uses recognisable ingredients and avoids artificial thickeners, sugar alcohols and unnecessary fillers.
At 15.7 g protein, it is a useful portable snack rather than a confectionery bar with a token protein claim.
I still count it as a 215-calorie cashew-based food, not a free food or a complete meal.

How I use it

I use one bar as a portable snack when the alternative is likely to be a less useful convenience food.
I pair it with a meal or other food when I need more carbohydrate, micronutrients or total energy than the bar provides.
I do not use collagen bars as the sole protein source because collagen has a different amino-acid profile from complete dietary proteins.
